BPFTIO is in Cuttack, the old capital of Odisha,  has a long history of more than 1000 years and it is the bridge of tradition, art, culture and commerce of the State of Odisha . The City has a major railway station on the South  Eastern railways & it has got railway links to almost all part of the Country. It is only 29 kms from the Capital City, Bhubaneswar connected through air to various metros of the Country. Situated at the bank of river Mahanadi & adjacent to State Marie Time Museum , the institute has got a cosy campus, near the campus of Bhubananand Odisha School of Engineering, Cuttack the oldest Polytechnic of the State. The Institute is just 4 km away from Cuttack Badambadi Bus Stand,  3 Km from Cuttack Railway Station and 1 km  from SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Desirous candidates may apply through OJEE 

Reservation of seats under different categories are as per the Government norms for SC/ST students, Women Candidates for inside State candidate.

Each candidate is required to deposit annual tuition fees of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five thousand ) only. In addition each candidate has to pay Rs.1,000/- towards caution money at the time of admission which is refundable.

The medium of teaching is English.

Wi-Fi in campus separate Hostel facility with 24 hours security provision are available for boys and girls from the distance places. Allotment of seats is made for needy students on merit basis. Hostel fees which includes seat rent, electricity, water charges, watch and ward & contingency etc. is Rs.3000/- (Rupees three thousand) per annum or at the rate as to be prescribed by Government of Odisha  from time to time from the students who would be staying in the hostel.  

Yes, all the courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

          No BPFTIO is one and only Institute under the ambit of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT)  and administrative Control of Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha under the Department of Skill Development & Technical Education,  Government of Odisha offering 4 years Bachelor Programme in Cinematic Art and Technology.

Yes, Prerana scholarship, Children of BOC worker and other scholarship are provided as per norms of Odisha State Government.

BPFTIO has collection of more than 2500 nos of precious volumes of books by reputed authors/ Film makers   from various Countries. General the Library is opened from 11.00 AM to 6.00 PM on working days.

Yes, various experimental films of reputed Directors of India and abroad are screened & discussed with the students. Further the final semester students are to make 10-12 minutes long feature film which is the part of their course curriculum, hence they can able to make films after completion of course.
