Overview
The Department has three sound studios equipped with analogue and digital equipment, advanced audio workstations, 3D surround mixing setup (Auro certified 11.1), and digital location audio recorders.
The course is an amalgamation of technology and aesthetics, where students gain hands-on experience in studio and location sound recording for film and video formats.
After completion, students find opportunities as recordists in music studios, dubbing and re-recording studios, film production houses, media channels and broadcasting organizations.

Practical Exposure
Students engage in recording exercises, studio practice, and real-world production environments. They learn through workshops, guest lectures, study tours and by participating as members of film production teams.
Practical sessions focus on developing both technical expertise and creative understanding of sound in cinema and media.
Concept & Approach
The course develops an understanding of sound as a critical storytelling element in film and media. Students learn the art and craft of recording, editing and designing sound across various formats including film, television and digital platforms.
Emphasis is given to both artistic sensibility and technical proficiency, enabling students to work effectively in professional sound environments.
