Besides there is an air-conditioned shooting floor with multi camera set up for online recording.

Overview
The Department of Cinematography is well equipped with Multi Camera set up, Black Magic URSA Digital Film Camera Set up, 2/3” 3 CCD Panasonic P2 Full HD Camcorder, 16mm & 35mm film cameras and digital video cameras. Besides there is an air-conditioned shooting floor with multi camera set up for online recording. After completion of the course the students get opportunity to be absorbed as Camera person in various television channels of this State & channels of National/ International repute like Doordarshan, Star Network, Sony, Colours, Loksabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV and other Government organizations like DRDO, ISRO, Film Division etc. Besides they have openings in the field of feature film production, documentaries, corporate films, tele-films, tele-serials & advertisement film productions.
The Cinematography course in the BPFTIO is for students who want to be working as a cinematographer for the film, television and ad-film industry. Cinematography is the art and craft of creating motion picture images. Of the most important aspects of cinema, a cinematographer is responsible for the translation of ideas into visuals. This requires a high amount of visual maturity. To be able to do as much as needed and to be able to add to the Director’s ideas into a direction which might help the film achieve its intentions.
To be able to do this, students of cinematography course go through an intense amount of practical exposure with opportunity to be able to shoot from still cameras to high-end professional digital motion pictures camera. This kind of input makes the cinematographer technically ready for all kinds of shooting requirements. More importantly, this level of imagination would make the cinematographers imagination vis-a-vis the medium much better thus exposing to him/her the various possibilities.
In addition to the technical & practical inputs, the course will emphasise a great deal on the theoretical aspects and cinema aesthetics. Also, with exposure to film theory and history, the course intends to have the graduates of the course have an overall understanding of cinema.
The benchmark for completion of the course will be a film, produced by the student, wherein the acquired knowledge and skills in the related discipline are exhibited. All graduating students will be given a chance to showcase their work in the annual graduate show, where eminent personalities from the profession will be invited and all the graduating students get a chance to interact with them and discuss their work.
